On October 12, 2025 a typhoon impacted many of Alaska's western villages, including Kotlik, Napakiak, Kipnuk, Quinhagak, and Kwigillingok (among others). The typhoon displaced over 1500 Alaskans and launched the national guard, who helped airlift hundreds to the Anchorage area. Thankfully, the typhoon has not affected any of our SEND North missionaries in a significant manner. In times when darkness, pain, and destruction surround us, feeling hopeless is often our response. However, the Lord meets us in our suffering and comforts us in times of need. Often his greatest care comes through the Body of Christ. Although SEND North is not a relief organization or directly involved in the evacuation efforts, we will be prayerfully looking for ways to minister to those who have been affected by this storm.
