No matter where our missionaries serve, they encounter people in pain. In order to share the love of Christ, they must turn toward those who are hurting. Gifts to this Compassion & Relief project help people and places that are facing times of crisis.

Cyclone Ditwah has caused severe devastation in Sri Lanka on November 28, with the death toll rising to 212 so far, and over one hundred people reported missing, mainly due to landslides and flooding caused by more than 12 inches of rainfall within 24 hours. The numbers continue to increase.

Nearly 66,000 people have been displaced to shelters such as schools, with the eastern and central regions most severely affected. Schools, train services, and stock exchange operations have been suspended amid the ongoing heavy rains.

The NCEASL (National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka) and one of our church planting partners in Sri Lanka has made an urgent appeal for $50,000 to put together emergency packs that include:

  • Essential food items and dry rations
  • Safe drinking water
  • Hygiene and sanitation supplies
  • Basic medicines
  • Small cash assistance for temporary shelter, transport, or urgent repairs

Would you join us in showing Christ’s love in action?

Your generosity will help provide life-saving assistance and remind those affected that they are not alone—that the love of Christ shines the brightest in the darkest times.
