For over 35 years, my calling has been guided by a single, powerful concept: Kaifa.

In Chinese, “Kaifa” (开发) means more than just development; it signifies the holistic growth of a person—intellectually, physically, and spiritually. It embodies the idea of progress through the exchange of ideas. As the great Edith Schaeffer once said of our work, it is “real discussion meeting the needs of questioning people who need personal answers.”

This philosophy has been the heartbeat of my journey, a journey that began in China and has since expanded across Thailand, Myanmar, India, and Nepal—nations that together hold nearly 35% of the world's population.

My role, as I see it, is to be a cultivator of partnerships. We don't just run projects; we invest in people. We work to create environments—incubators, really—where local leaders are empowered to contextualize the gospel, navigate complex cultural challenges, and build sustainable ministries that will last for generations. The project must never overshadow the individuals for whom it was designed.

Now, as Director of The Kaifa Group within SEND International, this vision is poised for greater impact. By joining with SEND, we can provide the leaders I serve with the world-class support, resources, and stability they need to thrive.
