Hello! My name is Mihai Jurju. I am a Romanian that is living in the Detroit area of Michigan amongst a very large population of immigrated Romanians. I arrived in the United States when I was only a year old but have visited Romania more than a dozen times. Within this large population of Romanians in Detroit I have always gone to Romanian church, spoke the language, and grew up and remained in the culture.

Growing up in this community, I felt God’s calling to full-time ministry, driven by a passion for evangelism, teaching, and preaching. I long to give back to my people and meet the need for spiritual discipleship and the full gospel. For the past five years, I’ve served through preaching, teaching, leadership, and discipleship. Now, as a Biblical Preaching major at Moody Bible Institute, I’m gaining the theological and practical tools to carry out this calling.

Thus I plan on going on a short-term mission internship in Romania for the summer, within the city of Craiova, with the trusted missionary organization of SEND International. God has grown a deep desire in me to do missions, and He is directing me to go to one of the most spiritually dry regions of Romania to be a faithful servant and lead people to the gospel. My heart goes out to the Romanian people, my people, and I desire to serve them like Christ. I hope to minister to others and grow with others so we can glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
