Anna from Ghana here! I moved to the United States for college in 2008, and in October of 2026, I will have lived in the United States the same number of years as I did in Ghana. So, it’s safe to say that the United States has become home. It has been the soil in which the Lord has chosen to form me into the woman I am today and the launching pad to what he has in store for me in Japan. The Lord placed a strong desire on my heart for missions on a short-term trip to India in 2019. It has been quite an adventure with him healing, pruning, creating opportunities for growth, and solidifying the call to become a missionary. It’s been quite the journey of discernment, discovery, and taking steps of obedience which didn’t always make sense to me. Nor was I able to predict how these steps were going to eventually lead to me becoming a missionary in Japan. But fortunately, “hindsight is 2020” proved true in my case. Looking back, I see how the Lord put those puzzle pieces together to create a picture of a life in Japan that he will use to blend the two passions he has created in me: that the nations know and worship him and that vulnerable children and families find healing and wholeness through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I long for the day when I and the people that the Lord has called to partner with him in Japan will together with the heavenly host proclaim that “the kingdom of this world [Japan], has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15)
Until all have heard!!!
