Dave Givens

Dave Givens has served with SEND in the Philippines, Hong Kong and the US. As a church planting missionary and photographer, he, and his wife Liz (writer, editor), has visited all 20 countries of SEND's ministry and more. Dave's passion is evangelism by any means possible and mobilizing others to become involved in missions. His focus is on campuses in the Northeast USA and churches in New England. One of his primary interests for overseas ministry is East Asia.

What is your favorite quote?
"With God anywhere, without Him, not over the threshold." John Mott, missionary statesman who predicted at the end of World War 1 that if we didn't send a thousand missionaries to Japan, we would soon send 100,000 soldiers. His challenge to Chaplain George Hixon to "go through any open doors" resulted in soldiers starting  SEND International during World War II.

What is your dream date?
Steak dinner and a musical performance like Fiddler on the Roof or Les Miserables.

What would you want written on your tombstone?
"My Jesus I love Thee"

If God hadn't called you to be a missionary, what vocation would you most
likely be doing?
I really can't imagine doing anything else, because whether I was a photographer, retail store sales, graphic designer, I would want to be making some contribution to helping others come to know and experience Jesus in their life.

Why do you mobilize students for SEND International?
Because, there are so many people in this world who don't know Jesus like I do, and I can't do the job alone.
