God draws people into short-term missions in unique and personal ways. Although not every short-term missionary takes the same path to the field, there are some basic steps.

SEND Summers/SEND Me

1. Explore SEND’s short-term opportunities and find one that fits you.
2. Apply by filling out the Preliminary Questionnaire, Application and References.
3. Be approved by the Short-term Personnel Committee.
4. If going for six months or longer, fill out a Life History Questionnaire and meet with a SEND counselor during training.
5. Come to SEND for one week of training. Training sessions are offered four times a year in January, March, May/June and September. 
6. Raise support.
7. Go on your mission trip and be amazed at what God does in and through you!
8. Debrief at SEND at the end of your trip.

 

Academic Internships

1. Explore SEND’s short-term opportunities and find one that fits you.
2. Apply by filling out the Preliminary Questionnaire, Application and References.
3. Send a list of your internship requirements to SEND.
4. Be approved by the Short-term Personnel Committee.
5. If going for six months or longer, fill out a Life History Questionnaire and meet with a SEND counselor during training.
6. Come to SEND for one week of training. Training sessions are offered four times a year in January, March, May/June and September.
7. Raise support.
8. Go on your mission trip and be amazed at what God does in and through you!
9. Debrief at SEND at the end of your trip.
10. Get one step closer to graduation.

 

SEND Teams

Churches or groups considering sending a team often follow these basic steps:

1. Explore team projects and choose one for your group.
2. Appoint a team leader and have them attend a Team Leader Training Workshop.
3. Sign and send in the Partnership Agreement.
4. Send in team member applications and paperwork.
5. Select and train your team.
6. Raise support and complete the logistics.
7. Go on your mission trip and watch God work in and through your team!
8. Debrief your team.

 

SEND Teach

1. Check out the teacher qualifications.
2. Connect with the SEND Teach coordinator to explore subjects and schedules.
3. Fill out an application and gather references.
4. Prepare to teach your class.
5. Go teach and share your life with Bible students in Ukraine.
