Qualifications for Short-term Missionaries
SEND Summers/SEND Me/Academic Interns
Qualifications for SEND Summers (2 weeks-2 months), SEND Me (2 months-1 year) or Academic interns differ based on the location and project. There are, however, some general qualifications for all short-term missionaries in these programs:- Know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior
- Have a mature, consistent, godly lifestyle; free of harmful addictive behaviors
- Be two years post-high school (although there are some exceptions)
- Be open to God calling you into long-term missions
- Agree with SEND’s Statement of Faith
- Have the recommendation (or affirmation) of your sending church
- Fill out a Preliminary Questionnaire (PQ)
SEND Teams
Each SEND Teams project has its own unique qualifications but there are some requirements that apply across the board:- Show clear evidence of faith in and acceptance of Christ
- Agree with SEND’s Statement of Faith and Doctrinal statement
- Be free of personal and physical issues that could hinder the work
- Pass a background check

SEND Teach
SEND Teach instructors must be qualified to provide college level instruction for Bible college students in Ukraine. Preferred qualifications include a Bible college or seminary degree (Master’s degree), ordination to ministry or pastoral experience. Teachers must also raise support to cover their trip and ministry expenses.For specific qualifications unique to the project, contact the SEND Teach Coordinator.
