Geography
Spain occupies most of the Iberian Peninsula and borders France and Andorra to the north and Portugal to the west. The countryside is dotted with ancient castles and medieval towns while bustling, modern cities are home to three-fourths of the population. The capital, Madrid, sits at the very heart of the peninsula where high altitude and nearby mountains make for warm summers and cold winters.
