Geography
Romania resembles a large pie chart with the Carpathian Mountains and the Transylvanian Alps fencing off the northeastern corner. This Eastern European country is slightly smaller than Oregon and shares its borders with Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary and the Black Sea. The terrain is divided into three nearly equal parts: 1/3 mountains, 1/3 hills, and 1/3 plains. The Danube River winds along the southern border and fans out into a delta before spilling into the Black Sea.
