We are involved in a combination of mission work.  Jon is the Administrative Coordinator in SEND Japan’s office, and Chieko has a unique ministry of caregiving through reflexology.  She gives treatments to believers and unbelievers, Japanese people and foreign missionaries, ranging from people with simply tight joints to some who have terminal illnesses in hospice care. Together we serve Japanese local churches on weekends, often by visiting a church with no pastor in order to preach and give encouragement to the people.

We both grew up in Japan. Chieko was led to Christ by SEND missionaries at age 16. I was the son of missionaries and later felt called to return as a missionary myself.

From 1989 to 2001, we worked in Okinawa, cooperating with the pastors of local churches associated with Japan Evangelical Church Association. Since 2002, we have been serving in Tokyo.

We have five children, all of whom are out of the home, living and working in different countries.
