Phil and Susan Burns

The Burns have served in the Philippines with SEND for more than 10 years. Their previous experience in the pastorate in Maine prepared them well for church planting ministry outside of Manila. In the past four years, Phil has served as Area Director. His leadership skills and cooperative work with the Philippine church have opened exciting new doors for SEND Philippines. For more than 15 years, SEND has recruited Filipino ministry leaders to serve in other parts of the world. Today the Philippines has a strong evangelical church and leaders are looking to serve as missionaries both in the Philippines and around the world. Under Phil's leadership, SEND Philippines is developing short term and long term training programs for Filipinos and expatriates, as well as TESOL training for English speaking Filipino believers to work cross-culturally, especially in other parts of Asia. Phil also continues to lead SEND Philippine missionaries engaged in church planting and teacher training in cooperation with the national church.
