Reaching
the lost in MK schools
It's not just missionary
children that attend missionary schools. Educated families want the best for
their kids, and missionary schools are often the place where non-Christian
children and teens meet Christ for the first time. I discipled Japanese and
expatriot teens for more than 20 years in Tokyo - let me tell you one memory
of a dedicated MK teacher.
Walking into Mr. Donuts
to meet with a group of high school guys for our weekly accountability group,
my heart was thrilled to see Ami meeting with Tanya, a teacher at the Christian
Academy in Japan.
My thoughts went back
to how Ami became a Christian: friend Shinji shared Christ with Yu, who shared
Christ with his sister, Ami. Now here was Tanya discipling Ami. This wasn't
the only morning I met Tanya at Mr. Donuts. She was there almost every morning
discipling high school students in the Word of God before her day started
as a junior high teacher. Shinji, Yu, Ami - the story goes on because of dedicated
missionary teachers like Tanya.
