Evan and Carrie Parks

Evan graduated from Cedarville College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in theology, and from Western Michigan University with a Master of Arts Degree in psychology in 1987. After moving to Chicago in 1989, Evan started his work toward his doctorate in clinical psychology while working at The Baldwin Center in Deerfield.  In 1993, Evan graduated from the Forest Institute and immediately began a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.

Evan and Carrie were married in 1993 and have two children, Kelly and Luke.   Carrie, a school teacher by education and former computer support consultant, is active supplementing her children’s Hungarian education with English based instruction at home and reaching out to the mothers from the children’s school.

While working as a psychologist in the US, Evan worked with many pastors, church leaders and missionaries.  He started the work of evaluating and screening personnel for mission agencies in 1990.  In 1999, Evan provided marriage seminars for SEND International staff in Europe.  After this trip, SEND invited Evan to establish a permanent Care Center in Europe to service the needs of mission personnel living in Europe and Russia.  They have been in Hungary since 2001.
