Vision 119 : Challenged to grow by

The new "Vision 119" brochure, an important tool for recruiters for SEND Taiwan is ready for print. Since the next big mission conference where SEND Taiwan is sending people too is in Germany at Martin Luthers city of his doctoral studies, Erfurt, it is not sufficient to just have a few brochures printed in English. The vast attendance of this special congress of mobilization in December will not speak English as their mothertongue.

About 35% at least will speak German, 14% Dutch, 27% English, 10% French, what unites the majority of the remaining is linguistically probably of Slavic culture background. SEND wants to be well prepared and is gearing up to be ready. -

The expenses for advertizing "Vision 119" at the place through video clips, posters, congress handbook etc are too high for SEND Taiwan's "Vision 119" tight mobilization budget.

Pray that despite the shortage of money for advertising for such an interesting Project like "Vision 119" the LORD will help us to find those HE has chosen to assist us in ministry in Taiwan as we read: "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty"(Sach. 4:6)

Mark and Ruth Back in Taiwan!

Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,

Rejoice with us, for on July 7th we safely returned to Taiwan, fully supported!

We moved into our new home in record time—one week later!

We enjoyed hosting Victor and Joy Lao (pictured to Ruth’s right) followed by our son

Gabe (who works for ORTV as  a “Let’s Talk English” teacher), and nephew,

Josh Columna!  We were saying “Good-bye” to the Laos, who are retiring after 25 years

of service!  Josh came to help us move, and to take part in several ministry opportunities. . .

. . .like the highlight of our summer—a Bi-lingual Children’s Camp in a village called

Daxicuo in West Chiayi, reaching 28 children with the Gospel!   We joined a ten-member

team as their English teachers, song-leaders, and MCs.  Praise the Lord for this open

door into this community where there is no church; the team has been reaching out to

foreign brides, and many of the children came  from their families.  Please pray for the

team as they visit in the homes, and MAKE PLANS FOR AN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

ON WEDNESDAYS!   Ruth may be invited down once a month to lead a Community Choir

for the elderly; this is something Ruth has committed to the Lord in prayer all year, and

some of you have even helped contribute music!  Hallelujah!

URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS:
1)	For Mark’s stamina and healing; he finally knows what may be causing his being so

tired and emotionally drained; besides grieving his Dad’s loss, he has heavy metal poisoning.

Pray for wisdom as we seek chelation therapy and a good dentist to remove his amalgam

fillings.

2)	For the “Catch the Vision” trip introducing others with an interest in Vision 119 to the

towns and our teams scheduled for Oct. 1-9, we still need two more to register, otherwise we

will have to wait till next Spring.

 Here we are with Chingshui Church coworker Mary Esther Hsu who is encouraging the

church to reach out to Luliau and wants to dedicate her home there to the Vision 119

church to be planted.  Truly, “the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.  Pray

therefore the Lord of the harvest  to send forth laborers into the harvest.”  Contact us

Pray for adoption of Sophia!

We have been blessed with the pending adoption of a 9 year old girl named Sophia. She is a legal orphan from our Vision 119 church in Fen Yuan and we have a court date on June 10 with plans to adopt her into our family! Please pray for all the paperwork and the adjustment of a new child in our home.

Their Year of Home Service Coming to a Close

April 29, 2011 Prayer Requests:

1) For safety in travel from Philly to San Diego on Tuesday, May 3rd.

2) For Frances as she graduates from Biola on May 28th, and begins to train to be an airlines stewardess with Sky West on June 16th; if it be pleasing to God, may she be able to live in LA for her job. How we rejoice in God's provision of this job for Frances! She has been praying about becoming an airline stewardess for the past couple of years.

3) Urgent prayer is needed for Dad Harbour, for a more secure place to live with skilled nursing. Mark and Ruth hope to see Dad's living situation improved before they return to Taiwan.

4) Pray for God's provision of the Harbours' remaining support need of $340 so that they can buy their tickets for a June 8th departure to Taiwan from Los Angeles.

Please pray for wisdom and guidance as we do mobilization and training for Philippine Sending Council. Pray that churches will be made aware of their role in missions and step up in faith to minister to the unreached people groups.

Please pray for God’s blessing and provision as we raise the remaining lack in our support for Taiwan ministry. Also, please pray for God’s guidance, favor and blessing as we network with other churches to develop more support base.

Pray for good connections with donors and churches in the Southwestern Ontario area as we seek God's provision for our financial support to return to Taiwan summer 2011.

Pray for people here to turn away from idol and ancestor worship.

Grow Strong, Walk Straight

Praise the Lord for Chun Ying, a contact from computer class and who has been meeting with me for a weekly Growth Bible study as she is baptized on Dec. 13. Pray for her to grow strong in her faith and walk with the Lord.

Open Hearts

Pray that the Lord would open the hearts of those we have been reaching out to with His Word and love through different English classes and Bible studies that they would respond to receive His gift of salvation in Christ.

Back in Taiwan

We have just returned to Taiwan after 10 months of home service in the U.S. We are thankful that we were able to spend time with our family, visit with friends, supporters and a number of churches. Would you pray for us as we transition back into our roles here at the SEND Mission center? Also, pray that the Lord guide us as we look for a church in our area that we can be a part of and participate in outreach (perhaps through English classes).
