Theological Education

Theological education is one of the greatest needs of the Ukrainian church. Even 20 years after the collapse of communism, many churches still have untrained leaders and utilize traditionalist methods that are neither reaching unbelieving Ukrainians nor empowering cross-cultural outreach. At the invitation of church leadership we teach theology and model a life of cross-cultural sacrifice that seeks to both train and inspire. If you have a passion for communicating God's Word, relevant theological training and a heart for cross-cultural service, consider joining SEND's exciting work in Ukraine.

SEND Ukraine is currently seeking theological educators with strengths in the following areas.
• Director for an M.B.A. program
• Distance learning specialist
• Missiologist with strong field experience
• Muslim ministries specialist
• Theological education generalist

Required Training: M.A. or above from a recognized Christian institution of higher learning

Essential Qualities: Teachability, flexibility to minister in various contexts, ability to
recognize and work with those from differing cultural and theological perspectives, commitment to teach in Russian /Ukranian, desire for strategic involvement in the local church, ability to train Ukrainans to fulfill the Great Comission

Desired Experience: Varied ministry experience in the local Church (preferably with
some leadership responsibility), teaching experience in a variety of settings, cross-cultural ministry experience and exposure

TESOL Teachers

Multi-faceted Church-planting Ministry

Be part of a multinational, Church-planting team with a multi-faceted ministry in order to foster healthy body life within the Ukrainian Church and fuel the emerging cross-cultural missions movement.

Your team will:
•    come alongside Ukrainian believers to assist young churches. Participate in discipleship, men's and women’s ministry, and leadership development as you model Christian community.
•    join Ukrainian co-workers to plant new churches. Existing strategies include ministry to orphans and at-risk-kids, teaching English and German, disabled ministries, craft ministries, and rehabilitation ministries.
•    prepare Ukrainians to serve as global missionaries in partnership with existing Ukrainian churches.

Many see the growing churches in Ukraine as the evangelical hub of Christianity for the entire former Soviet Union. While many villages and cities still need churches, we also believe that Ukraine will become a major missions force that will help take the Gospel to the nations.

People who are passionate for the lost and able to draw Christ into the conversation.

People who use sports in various settings—camps, clubs, sports outreaches, coaching—to meet people, share the gospel and build the church.

People who work with students, mainly high school and college, to evangelize and disciple them.

SEND Me! (short-term) English Club Ministry

Be a part of an exciting English Club ministry in Kyiv! The Ukraine field is looking for 2 men or 2 women to work in their English Club ministry for the school year September 2011 until May 2012. You would share an apartment and work together in ministry. It is essential to have hands-on experience with ESL and have the ability to work with all levels of English speakers, including beginners. You must also be able to formulate lesson plans.

ESL Teacher

Use your ESL training or experience to develop and teach in an ESL outreach to build relationships with Ukrainians in Kiev in order to share the Gospel with them.
Dates: January 2012 or Sept. 2012 - minimum commitment of 6 months
Approximate Costs: $11,000 for 6 months + international airfare
Costs included: In-country expenses, overseas health insurance, pre-field training, debriefing and administrative costs.

Missions in 12 Months

Spend a year in Kyiv, Ukraine participating in a multi-faceted program exploring missions through partnering with SEND missionaries as they minister in a local Ukranian church and ESL ministry. Full time language study as well as using your gifts and talents for individual ministry will also be a part of your time in Ukraine.
Dates: August 2012 - August 2013
Approximate Costs: $19, 885 + international airfare
Costs included: In-country costs, overseas health insurance, pre-field training, debrief and administrative costs.

SEND Teams Ukraine - Odessa Soccer Sports Camp

Do you play soccer? Ukraine needs a team to assist the Ukrainian soccer coordinator at an evangelistic soccer camp in the Odessa Region.

Team size: 4- 6 Spiritually mature Christians

Duration: 2 weeks

Time Frame: Mid June to late July

Requirements: good health and physical condition; able to give a testimony, musical ability is helpful

Estimated Cost: $3150 includes round trip airfare

SEND Teams Ukraine - Black Sea Camp Construction - Framing

Black Sea Camp is in need of a team to help with framing the 3rd building. It is a great opportunity to build relationships while working alongside a Ukrainian team. Members should have some knowledge or experience in construction. This time of year can be hot and humid with no airconditioning available. It is helpful to have a flexible and servant attitude. Members need to be prepared to give their testimony; musical ability is helpful for weekend ministry.

Size of team: 4 - 8 members

Duration: 2 Weeks

Time Frame: Mid-June to Late July

SEND Teams Ukraine - Black Sea Camp Construction - Roofing

Black Sea Camp is working on their 3rd building. This is a great opportunity to build relationships while working alongside a Ukrainian team putting on a roof. This time of year members may experience extreme heat and humidity without airconditioning being available. It is helpful to have a flexible and servant attitude along with being in good physical condition. Members should have construction knowledge or experience. All members should be prepared to give their testimony; musical ability is a plus for weekend ministry.

SEND Teams Ukraine - Odessa VBS Evangelistic Outreach

Do you like working with children? Ukraine needs a team to work with a Ukrainian team to plan, organize and host two VBS camps for believers and non-believers. Children's ages range from 5-12 years old. The camps will be held in cities that are located in the northern part of the Odessa region so teams need to pack with mobility in mind. This team will be responsible for planning the VBS curriculum, communicating what supplies are necessary and bring supplies that are not available in Ukraine. Experience in planning VBS is very much needed.

SEND Teams Ukraine - Odessa ESL Evangelistic Outreach

Do you have a desire to share Christ through ESL? Odessa needs a team to come alongside a Ukrainian team to plan, organize, host and teach two ESL camps in 2 different locations. The ability to be mobile between an urban and village setting are needed. This team will need to plan the ESL curriculum and communicate what supplies are needed. Members should have some ESL training and experience. Some members should have experience in evaluating the level of non-native speakers. Levels and age groups of attendees will be decided the beginning of 2012.
