Summer Ministry - The Journey (Alaska)

This Alaskan cross-cultural ministry training and experience is a highly intensive program where you would work alongside SEND North church planting missionaries among the unreached Native peoples of the 60/70 window. "The Journey" starts June 8, 2012 and is flexible up to eight weeks of time spent in the remote Alaskan Villages.

Cost is approximately $3,000, including airfare to Anchorage on June 8, 2012. Orientation and training will be held in Homer, AK after you arrive.

Summer Ministry - The Quest (Yukon)

We need 3 or 4 more people to join us in going into First Nations Communities in the Yukon to hold Vacation Bible School-type programs. See what life is like in the 60/70 window; help us share the good news of Jesus Christ to those who have never heard! You would arrive in Whitehorse, YT on June 11, 2012 and leave on August 10, 2012.

Cost is $1,400 plus airfare to Whitehorse, YT.

Bi-Vocational Opportunities

Use your current career to make a difference in the Far North. We are looking to partner with believers who enter the job force in the far north. No special training required. You just need to love people and work as unto the Lord. We can partner with Enviromental Engineers, Teachers, Biologists, Coaches, Substitute Teachers, Mechanics, Pilots, Health Care Workers, and Trainers who equip people to start small businesses.

Church Planter

Men and women who build friendships, start conversations, lead Bible studies, and model Christian living in order to establish reproducing churches.

Youth Worker

People who work with students, mainly middle school through high school, to evangelize and disciple them. This can be done living full time in one village or flying to several villages on an itinerate circuit.

Assistant (teaching and admin)

Assitant to the Director of Alaska Christian Ministries. www.akchristianmin.org This creative access outreach serves families in the Anchorage area and connects them with local churches for additional help. It's key work is Practical Parenting Workshops which is opening doors to work in villages.

Must have heart to serve families. Must Be able to teach and help with administrative duties including some computer work (database management and creating brochures).

Teachers

Teachers for formal and informal settings including public schools.

Discipler

Coming alongside Christians to help them grow in their faith and reach others.

Health/Medical Specialists

Mainly in creative access settings to meet the felt-needs of the nationals.

Bible Study Leader

Men and women to lead small, informal, evangelistic Bible studies in order to plant churches.

Computer/Media Specialist

IT support for missionaries and field offices.

Evangelist

People who are passionate for the lost and able to draw Christ into the conversation.

Youth Ministry

Working with national youth (middle school through college and young career) to evangelize and disciple.

TESOL Teachers

Teaching English in both formal and informal settings in order to evangelize.
