Bible Teacher and Trainer of Church Leaders
A
critical need in East Asia is for Bible teachers to train
the lay leaders
of Christian "meeting points." Most of these
key leaders have little or no Bible education, pastoral
training
or church management
instruction. This lack of training can created fertile
ground for false teaching, cults, interpersonal problems
in the
Body and mismanagement of resources. Much of the training
is conducted
in two-week sessions four times a year. Responsibilities:
- Teach basic
Bible classes for lay leaders

pastoral training

Church Planter
The
church in East Asia has come a long way since the first
missionaries arrived in this part of the world. The church is established
in many
areas and is taking responsibility to reach out to its
own people. Still, the Church asks for help in church planting,
reaching out
to groups of un-reached, un-churched, and disenfranchised
people of areas of East Asia where evangelism and church planting
are not
restricted, such as Macau. There is an urgent need for
churches to be planted, strengthened, grown and developed into
Great Commission-minded
churches. Stable, well-grounded, God-centered leadership
that will
help the church to mature and reproduce must be developed
in each church that is planted. Responsibilities:
- Pastoral
work including: Sunday school, preaching, member care, teaching,
youth
ministry, children's ministry, prayer meetings, fellowship
groups, etc.
- Outreach ministries
e.g. evangelism, English classes, etc.
- Ministry Skill
enrichment, including: Language studies, seminars
- Evangelism
& discipleship training
- Marriage and
family counseling
- Church
leadership training
Qualifications:
- Bible major
or seminary degree
- Church planting
and church strengthening experience a plus
- Training in
evangelism, counseling and leadership development would be helpful
- Social work
experience is also a plus

Community Health and Health Professionals
Along
with English teaching and computer instruction, healthcare
services provide an
open door to East Asia. Two basic healthcare platforms are included
in our outreach strategy. They are medical English
teaching and community health.
Through a developing relationship with an Asian medical school,
teaching opportunities are available for those professionals
trained in Western
medicine. These include physicians, nurses, therapists and technologists.
The second opportunity is in improving community health by helping
to identify public health issues and developing solutions
to address the problems. Responsibilities:

Computer Instructor
Basic
computer training is in high demand in East Asia.
There are far more employment
opportunities if an individual has computer training
in Windows and Microsoft products. Computer instruction provides
virtually
an open door, providing access to many areas of East
Asia. Computer teaching is an excellent outreach strategy to
expose students
to Christian friendship, to invite them to church services
at those locations where we have a partner church
and to build longer-term
relationships to share the Gospel in locations where
no church is available. Responsibilities:

English
language ability is in high demand in East Asia. Good conversational
English skills open doors to many more employment opportunities.
English instruction, by a native English speaker especially,
provides access to many areas of East Asia. English

Teacher of Missionary Children

The
education of the missionaries' children is a high priority
for SEND International.
Many of the locations
SEND services in East Asia are remote, and quality education is
not locally available. Therefore a teacher who will provide
quality
teaching for the missionaries' children is a critical and
vital part of the missionary team.

Project Coordinator
A key responsibility of
the creative access strategy for East Asia is community development projects.
These projects include: roads, scholarships, micro-loans, schools, training
centers, agricultural development, etc. These projects are implemented through
a Christian charitable organization and are joint ventures with the government.
Wisdom and knowledge in project selection; design, implementation, oversight,
and follow-up are necessary for effective use of funds and to meet the mission
goals.

Social Worker/ Counselor
There are many social problems
in East Asia today. People desperately need help with marital issues, parenting
problems, substance abuse, gambling addiction, etc. Personal counseling for
these issues is an effective outreach ministry to unbelievers and also a
much-needed service to grow and strengthen the members of the church.
Responsibilities:
- Development of counseling/
social work program
- Development of counseling
methodologies
- Family counseling
- Substance abuse counseling,
etc.

A very important part of
East Asia's ministry is summer teams. The teams expand outreach opportunities,
assist in building relationships with local officials and give the summer
team members exposure to the work in East Asia. God has used a summer experience
to direct many workers to return to service as career missionaries, SEND
needs a coordinator to organize the summer teams for maximum effectiveness
of summer programs.

Area Treasurer
Managing the finances for
the Area is a critical responsibility. The funds that the Lord provides must
be efficiently and wisely utilized and handled. The International office,
area leadership, and the missionaries require reliable accounting information
and assurance that financial matters are conducted accurately and efficiently.

- Responsible for all accounting
for the Area
