Jon grew up in a strong Christian home and put his trust in Christ while very young.  In 1994 he was baptized and committed to follow God with his life. His parents are missionaries and he was able to join them in ministry as God cultivated his heart for missions.

MaryAnna trusted Christ as her   personal Savior at the age of five. As she grew up and faced challenges in life she went through a time of questioning God’s existence. It was through this season that her faith was tested and solidified. In 9^th grade she rededicated her life to God and chose to follow Him with her life.

Our Children

We believe that we are called to the raising of our children. This is our first ministry and other forms of ministry overflow from our family to those around us. We have seen God confirm this in our lives and as our children grow and learn that growth often spreads to their friends and our neighbors.

Why Alaska

 While attending Alaska Bible College from 2002-2006, we became active in praying for the villages in Alaska and were made aware of many of the needs off the road system. We heard of the drugs, alcohol and suicide, and especially noticed the high number of villages with no Christian families living in the communities. It was through this time that our hearts were drawn towards western Alaska.

      Since then, we have gone through various classes with SEND and are becoming more aware of the great potential of the Alaskan people. God has gifted many Alaskan’s and they can also become a light in their communities and to other places around the world as they learn of Jesus Christ.

      Our hope is to live long term in western Alaska where we can reflect Christ to those around us and encourage our friends and neighbors as we serve God in Alaska

Summary of our first term

Our first term included time in the communities of Tok and Aniak. We were able to help in childrens ministry, youth ministry, sermons, bible studies, summer camps, hosting teams, and many other areas of growth and experience for us. Our first term was intended as an internship and overall it has confirmed that God has clearly called, gifted, and prepared us for ministry in western Alaska. We are eagerly looking forward to returning to whatever village God opens the door for us to live long term.
