Sherri Ens > Bio

Raised in a wonderful Christian family, I accepted Christ at an early age and God continued to work in my life.  During college I spent a year in Ireland, and then after college I went with Samaritan’s Purse to Rwanda for 7 months. Through these and other experiences, I felt God leading me towards long term missions.  In 1997, I traveled to Macedonia on a short-term trip where I met SEND missionaries and felt God leading me to return.  I moved to Skopje in June 1999.

My first two years were filled with getting to know people and studying the language. Since 2001 I have been working with a team in the eastern edge of the capital city of Skopje. At that time there was no church in the area, and only 2 known believers. Our aim was evangelism and discipleship, which involves a lot of visiting and gatherings in homes. Now there is a small group of believers that meets in a rental facility. We continue to use varied strategies to meet and interact with people including English classes, summer camps, sports tournaments, Christmas and Easter pageants, women's craft nights, and holding Bible Studies for whoever is interested. I still spend a lot of time visiting and gathering in homes and drinking a lot of coffee.
