about our ministry

We are career missionaries with SEND International serving in Manila, Philippines. Tony has served for the past four years as the Director of Technology at Faith Academy. When we reTony on Outdoor Edturn, Tony will be working with the teaching staff to help them teach their content in new and engaging ways through integrating technology components in their lessons. Tony will also work with the Philippine Sending Council (PSC) to provide technical support, training and tips to Filipinos desiring to enter missions.

Heather has cared for their two boys during these past four years. She has also led a ladies’ Bible study, substitute taught at Faith, discipled MKs, and directed musical Heather wih Youthpresentations in their Filipino church. She hopes to continue in these ministries when we return. However, she also desires to join PSC in their goal of sending 215 missionaries by the year 2015 by helping to coach appointees during their support discovery process. In addition, she is interested in joining with the Philippines Missions Mobilization Movement (PM3) to disciple and equip overseas Filipino workers so that they can become outstanding Filipino witnesses. PM3 has developed training materials to help Filipino believers return to work with a “Higher Purpose for their Job Overseas.”

We believe God has called us to return to Manila to continue serving not only at Faith Academy but also our Filipino brothers and sisters. We have a deep desire to see students and adults come to know Christ as their Savior and grow in their walk with Him. Our ministry is one of discipleship to three people groups: Missionary Kids, Missionaries, and Filipinos. We believe that without solid, Biblical discipleship believers often fail to grow deeply in the Word and become passionate about their Lord and Savior.

Who is PSC? The Philippine SENDing Council

PSC is in the Philippines and is the official sending office of SEND International in the Philippines, fully constituted in May 2008. PSC is here to serve by mobilizing, training, recruiting and facilitating the sending of Filipino cross-culture missionaries to the unreached peoples of the world. PSC cares by committing itself to provide missionary care thru orientation, mentoring, and counseling individuals and groups for overseas missions with SEND International.

PSC’s Vision: 215 by 2015

PSC is currently working toward its vision of sending 215 Filipino cross-cultural missionaries by the year 2015. This vision includes sending both short-term missionaries as well as career missionaries.

Philippine Missions Mobilization Movement (PM3) & PSC

It is estimated that over 8,000,000 Filipinos work abroad as OFWs – Overseas Foreign Workers. It is believed that 1,000,000 of these OFWs are evangelical believers. What if these 1,000,000 Filipinos began to see themselves as missionaries? Can you imagine the impact 1,000,000 witnesses could have for the Gospel?

PM3 is a new joint taskforce that is targeting these 1,000,000 OFWs while they are back in the Philippines. PSC is proud to partner with PM3 to equip and train these OFW believers so that as they return to their jobs, they do so as Outstanding Filipino Witnesses. In order to disciple and train these OFWs, a curriculum has been developed called A Higher Purpose for your Job Overseas.

Our Involvement

We are excited to be returning to the Philippines to serve with PSC in mobilizing Filipinos to engage the unreached. Our involvement will with PSC will include…

• Mentoring missionary candidates and appointees
• Coaching missionary candidates and appointees
• Discipling of candidates and appointees
• Training of candidates and appointees in technology use to effectively share their ministry
• Working with PM3 to train OFWs to have a Higher Purpose for their overseas jobs

On a personal note…

Tony: I was raised in a Christian home and with my dad being a Brethren in Christ pastor, church became like a second home for our family. When I was 8, I prayed with my Sunday school teacher to receive Jesus as my Savior. Shortly following my conversion, I was baptized, by immersion, into the family of God and joined our church in membership. However, not much changed in my life after that, as I continued to go to church regularly with my family. It was not until college where I was challenged with the question, “Is Jesus Christ Lord of your life?” During my sophomore year at Messiah College I grew a lot, deepening my relationship with Christ and eventually rededicating my life to Christ, this time not only accepting His gift of salvation to me, but receiving Him as Lord of my life.

Heather: Because of being born into a Christian family and a missionary one at that, I had heard about God and Jesus all my life. It wasn’t until we were on our second furlough when I was 6 that I realized how personal God could be. My mom was teaching a CEF class and was illustrating the gospel with the Wordless Book. As she explained about the black, I realized my heart was black with sin. I realized also that I could have a white/pure heart if I accepted Jesus as my Savior. That night, during our family devotions, I asked my parents if they would help me to accept Jesus into my heart. They helped me pray the sinner’s prayer and I became a Christian.
